Governor Sanwo Olu, Others To Grace International Day For The Eradication Of Poverty 2024

The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA), an esteemed organization with United Nations (UN) special Economic and Social Consultative Status (ECOSOC) since 2019, is set to commemorate the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty with a significant event in Lagos. This one-day event, aligned with the UN calendar of events for 2024, will take place on Thursday, October 17th, 2024, at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to Amb. Onyeka Jaivbo Ojigbo,(PHD),the event will be chaired by Professor Haastrup Edward Adenrele from the Faculty of Education, University of Lagos. His Excellency, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, will honor the occasion as the Special Guest of Honour. The event is expected to attract prominent Nigerian men, women, and youth from within and outside the state, showcasing a strong commitment to eradicating poverty and promoting sustainable development.

The event will feature insightful presentations on strategies and initiatives aimed at eradicating poverty and fostering sustainable development.
Special Recognitions: The highlight of the event will be the conferment of the Eminent Peace and Sustainable Development Ambassadors’ Awards. These awards, presented by Amb. Per Stafsen, World Peace President from the Kingdom of Denmark, will honor distinguished Nigerian individuals for their exceptional contributions to peace and sustainable development.

The theme of the one day event : “Ending Social and International Maltreatment,Acting Together,For jus Peaceful And Inclusive Societies”, is expected to attract participants from all walks of life.
The Royal Father of the day is HRM ,Dr. Eberechukwu Oji,Eze Aro the ix of Arochukwu Kingdom.While Dr Bolaji O. Akinyemi, Chairman Project Call (PVC) is the Special Guest.Also expected to grace the occasion is Dr.Alhaji Muhammadu Isah Umaru,FDSS,GPPDI, amongst other eminent personalities.

This event underscores the global commitment to ending poverty and highlights the vital role of collaborative efforts in achieving sustainable development goals. The IAWPA invites all stakeholders and the general public to join in this significant observance and support the cause of eradicating poverty.
