Public burning of Kwakwansiya symbol in Lagos on Monday by NNPP

In a sheer display of bravado,anger and betrayal of trust,arrogance and miss guided actions and activities of the former Presidential candidate of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP),Senator Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso,the party on Monday in Lagos publicly destroyed the vestige of the Kwakwansiya Movement by setting Ablaze the trademark red -white Cap of the Kwakwanso led movement.
Rising from a meeting with the Founder of the New Nigerian People’s Party NNPP, Dr.Bonoface Okechukwu Aniebonam,on Monday,in Lagos,the Ogun State Chapter of the party who came on a courtesy visit to the Founder,noted that burning of the Kwakwanso trademark red whit cap, signaled the end and irreversible exit of the former Presidential candidate of the party.

Addressing the delegates,Dr.Aniebonam maintained that the NNPP,” Belongs to God.God is the owner of the party, therefore you have nothing to worry about”
He reiterated that he is not a politician , because he doesn’t speak from the two sides of his mouth,which core politicians are noted for.
He said,” Kwakwanso cannot highjack this party”,noting that the action of Kwakwanso’ is the tonic we need to work hard”.

Dr Aniebonam however acknowledged that Senator Kwakwanso has added value to the New Nigerian People’s Party ,but expressed confidence that with or without Senator Kwakwanso,the NNPP would achieve its goal of a new Nigeria.
He assured the delegates that, “those who crossed over to the other side would later come back to join you people.We are getting our party back”.
Speaking in an interview,on the issue of the symbolic burning of the Kwakwanso’ trade mark red and white Cap ,which has defined the Kwakwansiya Movement,Dr Aniebonam said ,” the burning of the Kwakwanso trade mark cap is an expression of anger” He said the people are angry because of his betrayal of the party.

Dr Aniebonam rubbished the purported letter written by Kwakwanso to the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), requesting the changing of the party’s logo as” inconsequential”.
According to the NNPP Founder, ” You cannot build something on nothing”Dr Aniebonam who expressed confident that the party is on course to achieve great heights in Nigeria,noted that the NNPP belongs to God ,and nobody can change what God has ordained.

He assured millions of NNPP members across the nation that the party would have the last laugh,even as he told the Ogun State delegation comprising executives of the party and the party’s contestants in the forth coming local government election in the state that the party remains strong and undaunted,
despite the shenanigans of some people he called ” unemployed characters” who are desperate for power and wants to destroy the party.
He said the purported change of logo of the party is immaterial as the original certificate of registration of the party is in his custody.

Dr Aniebonam submitted that,”The NNPP is not the property of INEC,” adding that INEC should produce the certificate with which they authorised the change of the party’s logo.
He assured that the logo of the party remains intact,stressing that members should not express any fear as the matter is already in court.

Dr Aniebonam urged the delegates from Ogun State to remain steadfast as the National body would give them the necessary support they need to excel in the forth coming Local government election,urging them not to be deterred by distractions of the dissident members of the party.
He tasked them to be on the side of the law always, stressing that if they are on the side of law ,they would always be victorious

He expressed confidence that NNPP would do very well in the forth coming local government election in Ogun State.
Speaking in an interview also,the National Secretary of the party,Mr Ogini Olaposi said the purpose of today’s meeting with the Founder of the party ,Dr Boniface Aniebonam,is to formerly introduce the candidates of the party for the forth coming local government election in the State.He said the importance of the visit is for the candidates to get the prayers and blessings of ” Our father”.He said the Founder has blessed them and given words of inspiration and encouragement, the same way Kwakwanso came and received blessing before he derailed

Asked the reason for the symbolic burning of the Kwakwanso trade mark cap,the NNPP National Secretary said,” Kwakwanso has come and gone.This party through the benevolence of our father,and founder of the party,Dr Boniface Okechukw Aniebonam,we are able to give Kwakwanso a platform.In all his political journeys ,what he has never gotten in his life is to be a presidential candidate of any political party.In his Normandie way of wandering from one party to the other,he has never gotten the opportunity to stand as a presidential candidate of a party.He has tried it in PDP he didn’t get It,he tried it in APC he didn’t get it.He got It in NNPP and he messed it up.Instead of playing the game according to the rule ,he wants to highjack the party and rum away with it.You can see him attempting to change the logo of the party to that of his school.And all his red Kwakwansiya whatever,they are cultist,and we don’t want terrorists in our mindst.We don’t want to be associated with terrorists, because we believe that anyone that has anything to do with terrorists must be condenmed.That’s why we burnt the caps”.
The National Treasurer of the party,Mr Adetoye Seyi Omokanoye stated in an interview shortly after the meeting that the reason the Kwakwanso red whit caps were burnt is to show the whole world that Senator Kwakwanso is no longer a member of NNPP,and that he has been expelled from the party for anti party activities, betrayal of trust and unsuccessful attempt to highjack the party he joined few years back.
He said NNPP has existed for over 24 years and Senator Kwakwanso only joined the party two years ago.
He said the reason for the burning of the caps is to show to the whole would that NNPP was not involved in all the shenanigans that occurred in Kanon state recently.He added that “the NNPP is not in confrontation with the Federal Government, therefore whatever that is happening in Kano State ,we are not part of it.We are a political party who knows the rule of law,and we operate under the rule of law.”
He said,” the NNPP is a party that is ready to contest election any time, and not to be doing something otherwise against the Federal Republic of Nigeria.So that’s what informed the burning of the Kwakwansiya cap.Because all what is going on in Kano State is not NNPP, it is Kwakwansiya.And we have no affiliation with Kwakwansiya.”
Speaking earlier during the meeting,the chairman of NNPP Chapter Ogun State,chief Gabriel Alabi Somoye highlighted the reasons why they came on the courtesy visit.

He said they came on the visit to brief the Founder on the situation of the party in Ogun State and also to keep him abreast of the party’s preparation and determination to contest in the forth coming local government election in the state.
He also stated some of the challenges confronting the party ,some of which include Finance and other logistics.
He said the party has been resolute in its loyalty to the party despite attempts by Ajadi faction of the party to lure members to his side.
Chief Somoye said in an interview that they are very well prepared for the State local government election,adding that the contestants for the chairman and council elections are all well prepared,and that they have,” been going from house to house to speak to the people,to let them know that we are ready for the election”.
He expressed confidence that the candidates will win in their various capacities.On the burning of the Kwakwansiya Symbol,he said,” It shows that Kwakwansiya movement is not part of NNPP,and that the orchestrator of Kwakwansiya movement is not a member of NNPP,and people should not be deceived any more.We are passing an important message to the people so that they will know the right NNPP and the fake”.

In her speech at the meeting the State Secretary,Wheto Temitope thanked the Founder Dr Aniebonam ,for providing them the platform to participate in politics.She prayed God to grant him good health and long life.
She said the party in Ogun State remains undaunted even in the face of tough challenges and harassments by the other faction of the party.She told the Founder that the reason for their visit was to inform him about the progress the party has recorded over time despite difficulties they had encountered.She assured that the NNPP Ogun State is ready for the forth coming local government election in the state,and expressed confidence that they will come out victorious .
