The newly inaugurated Governing Board of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has pledged full support to the Agency’s Executive Management in achieving its mandate and advancing Nigeria’s Blue Economy agenda.

Speaking at the Board’s inaugural meeting in Lagos, Chairman Hon. Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar assured that the Board would work closely with NIMASA’s leadership to realise the Agency’s objectives. He noted that the Management had signed a performance bond with the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, which would serve as a benchmark for assessing its achievements.

“As a Board, we are determined to collaborate with Management to implement activities that will shape the Agency’s policy direction and strengthen its capacity to deliver,” Abubakar stated.

NIMASA Director General/Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, welcomed the Board members and reaffirmed the Agency’s commitment to promoting and regulating shipping, maritime safety, security, and marine environment protection.

He stressed that the Board’s backing would boost NIMASA’s drive to attract investments, improve maritime infrastructure, and enhance human capacity in line with the Federal Government’s sustainable Blue Economy vision.
