MWUN’s Comrade Taofeek Clinches AIT’s 2025 Best Staff Award

Comrade Taofeek Adeleke, a dedicated security officer of the Maritime Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MWUN), has been honoured with the 2025 Best Staff Award by the African Independent Television (AIT). The presentation took place at the station’s corporate headquarters in Alagbado, Lagos.
According to AIT representatives and members of the Union, Comrade Taofeek’s selfless service and unwavering commitment to duty distinguished him for the prestigious recognition. Described as diligent, brilliant, and exceptionally alert, he is reputed for possessing “bird’s eyes” — a rare ability to detect potential security threats before they escalate.
A former dockworker from Oyo State, Comrade Taofeek has grown into a dependable security personnel within MWUN, earning the admiration of executives and colleagues alike.
On returning to the office, Comrade Taofeek presented the award to the President-General of MWUN, Comrade Francis Bunu Abi. The labour leader applauded him for his loyalty, responsiveness and remarkable dedication to duty. Comrade Bunu described him as one of the Union’s outstanding staff members who “sees duty as dignity to the soul of man” and consistently goes the extra mile to deliver results, regardless of circumstances.

The President-General further urged him to remain steadfast and maintain exemplary conduct, noting that the award marks the beginning of greater achievements ahead.
In his remarks, Comrade Taofeek expressed gratitude to the President-General and the Union’s executives for their continued support and encouragement under the current administration.
