The President-General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, recently welcomed executive members of the tripartite haulage collaboration—comprising MWUN, the Association of Maritime Truck Owners (AMATO), and the National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO)—on a courtesy visit at the Union’s Secretariat located on Osho Drive, Olodi, Apapa.

This visit marked the first official engagement of the collaboration with Comrade Bunu since his election as President-General of MWUN, reflecting a renewed spirit of partnership among key stakeholders in the maritime haulage sector.

During the meeting, the executives extended their congratulations to Comrade Bunu on his electoral victory and expressed optimism for a peaceful and successful tenure under his leadership. They also sought his guidance and support in addressing operational challenges faced by haulage operators at various seaports across the country.

In response, Comrade Bunu, a seasoned maritime expert and business administrator, assured the delegation of his commitment to improving collaboration among stakeholders. He emphasized his dedication to driving efficiency, enhancing operational standards, and fostering unity within the sector.

“I am deeply honored by your visit and encouraged by your support,” Comrade Bunu stated. “Together, we will work to strengthen our operations and ensure seamless haulage services across the nation’s ports.”

The visit also included executives from the Silo Cargo Truck Owners group, who received similar assurances of support from the MWUN leadership. The meeting concluded with the exchange of goodwill messages and renewed commitment to a more cohesive and effective working relationship.
