Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) has said it has implicit confidence in the new NIMASA Director General
Dr. Dayo Mobereola, who was recently appointed the Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
The foremost Maritime Union stated this in a congratulatory message today,24 March ,2024 to the new DG ,signed by the Media Head of the Union comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna

The Union noted that the new DG of NIMASA who holds a PhD and Msc in Transport Economics from the University of Wales  respectively is, also a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Transport England, and a fellow of Chartered Institute of Transport in Nigeria too. He was the former Managing Director,  Lagos State Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) from 2003-2015. And was also Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation from 2015 to 2016.

Dr. Mobereola ,the statement noted ,is  no doubt a technocrat who has acquired experiences overtime and is well grounded in the transportation sector; therefore, he has the wherewithal to navigate the NIMASA Agency.

“The leadership of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria is welcoming the new DG into his new designation with all hands open as he pilots the enormous affairs of NIMASA.

“The Union has had symbiotic relationships with past Directors -General of the Agency and believes that such cordial relationships will continue to wax stronger with Dr. Mobereola .

“In view of this, the Union will continue to give her usual support and cooperation with continuous inhouse engagement from time to time for a mutual understanding of the maritime industry.

“Once again, the Union welcomes  Dr. Mobereola as he assumes his new designation in NIMASA, and also pray that the Almighty God will give him the strength, wisdom and knowledge to have a smooth sail in piloting the affairs of the Agency.” the statement concluded
