Enugu/Anambra/Ebonyi Customs Command Sets New Revenue Record In 2024,Rakes In #50.8bn

The Nigeria Customs Service Enugu/Anambra/Ebonyi Command has achieved a remarkable milestone in 2024, setting a new revenue record with a collection of ₦50.847 billion.
This figure represents a significant 50% increase compared to the ₦27.954 billion collected in 2023, marking the highest revenue ever recorded by the command since its inception.
Comptroller Comfort Ukpanah, the Customs Area Controller, attributed this outstanding achievement to the command’s alignment with the three policy guidelines of the Comptroller General of Customs: Consultation, Innovation, and Consolidation. The command’s inclusive approach and strong collaboration with stakeholders played a crucial role in this success.
The command implemented a comprehensive methodology to monitor compliance and ensure that all operational gaps were addressed. This included round-the-clock surveillance of excise factories and parcel post functions, ensuring appropriate excise duties were collected. Despite challenges posed by the global economic recession, the resilience and commitment of the officers and men of the command enabled them to block revenue leakages and maximize revenue collection.
Looking ahead, the command is poised to meet and surpass the revenue targets for 2025, as announced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The command plans to develop fresh operational strategies and strengthen relationships with other agencies and traditional institutions to continue its impressive performance.
Comptroller Ukpanah noted that the exceptional support from various security and regulatory agencies, along with effective intelligence sharing, has been instrumental in the command’s achievements.
Comptroller Ukpanah affirmed that the visit of the National Chairperson of the Customs officers Wives Association Mrs. Kikelomo Adewale Adeniyi with her National Excos to the command gave further impetus to the activities of the command ,noting that ,”the visit afforded the national chairperson the opportunity to inspect and commission all completed COWA projects in the command, especially the ultra-modern clinic that is serving the health needs of not just our officers but communities proximate to the command”.
She expressed gratitude to the , “indefatigable comptroller General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi mfr Fnipr psc(+) Dss and members of his, Management for their unflinching support and guidance which provided us with the wherewithal to deliver on our mandate”
Comptroller Ukpanah,assured the CGC that the command will remain a strong link in the Value chain in assisting him to realise the huge expectations of Nigerians and Mr. President.
” May I assure the CGC and his management that the command will remain a strong link in the value chain of his regime in assisting him to realise the huge expectations of our president and Nigerians” Comptroller Ukpanah said.
She thanked all the operators for their support and mostly the compliant traders ,urging them to keep up the good trend.
She however used the medium to advise non compliant traders to have a rethink.
“Let me at this juncture also appreciate the support of the various operators, particular the compliant traders, while using this medium to advise any operator contemplating non-compliance with the extant guidelines on trade to have a rethink or be ready to force the full wrath of the law” she stated.
Comptroller Ukpanah thanked the Officers and men of the command for their courage and dedication to to duty, without which she noted there would have been no achievement,even as she expressed gratitude to to the media for theor contribution to the successes recorded by the command.

The Enugu/Anambra/Ebonyi Command remains committed to its pivotal role in the overall revenue projection for the nation.
