Comrade Adewale Adeyanju’s Leadership Recognized with Prestigious ITF Positions

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) is celebrating a significant milestone as their President General, Comrade (Prince) Adewale Adeyanju, has been ratified for three prestigious positions at the 46th International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) Congress held in Marrakesh, Morocco.The ratification of the ITF, was done by over 2000 members of the organisation.

Comrade Adeyanju’s election to these roles was initially secured at the ITF Africa Regional Conference in March 2024 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. His new positions include:

Vice President of ITF Global
Executive Board Member
Chairman of ITF Africa Region
These appointments highlight Comrade Adeyanju’s exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to advancing the rights of workers in the maritime sector. His election is a historic achievement for Nigeria and Africa, showcasing his ability to unite and advocate for workers on a global stage.

As Vice President of ITF Global, Comrade Adeyanju will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of the organization, ensuring that the voices of transport workers worldwide are heard and respected.
