Compt.Shuaibu Charges Newly Promoted Officers To Justify Their Promotion

Comptroller Ahmadu Shuaibu,Ogun 1 Customs Area Controller,has called on the newly promoted Officers in the Command to redouble their efforts to justify their promotion,as their new status has placed a lot of responsibility on them.
Compt.Shuaibu reminded the newly promoted Officers that ,”To whom much is given,much is expected,” adding that by virtue of their new rank ,there is need for them to make adjustments in their mode of dressing,performance and communication.

According to the command’s Public Relations officer,Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSC),Hameed Bukoye Oloyede,who himself was equally promoted to the rank of CSC,noted in a statement that the atmosphere at the command , yesterday,11 January was filled with splendore and glamour ,as the newly promoted Officers celebrated with friends, colleagues and family members.
The statement read,”The atmosphere at the Headquarters of the Nigeria Customs Service, Ogun 1 Command, Idiroko, took a different dimension yesterday, 11 January 2024. It was a celebration galore throughout the day, as the newly promoted officers were decorated and celebrated by their fellow colleagues, families and friends.

“During the ceremony, the Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Ahmadu Shuaibu who was ably represented by the Deputy Comptroller Administration due to his official engagement at the Service Headquarters Abuja, while congratulating the promoted officers, expressed gratitude to God for His grace on the promotion.

“He appreciated the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi MFR dsm fnipr psc(+) and the Customs Board for finding the promoted officers worthy of promotion. He charged the officers to redouble their efforts and see their promotion as a call to higher responsibility.

“He stated further: “Your promotion is a privilege, many of you sat for the promotion examination but not all got promoted. You have to live up to expectations , to whom much is given much is expected “.

“The newly promoted Comptroller AA Abdulkadir and former Deputy Comptroller Valuation of the Command, who graced the occasion , advised the promoted officers to do things differently from their usual ways such as dressing, communication and level of performance, among others. He also charged them to expect higher responsibilities and more tasks ahead.

“At the occasion, 4 Chief Superintendent of Customs (CSCs), 3 Superintendent of Customs (SCs), 7 Deputy Superintendent of Customs (DSCs), 3 Assistant Superintendent of Customs I (ASCs I ) and 2 Assistant Superintendent of Customs II (ASCs II) were decorated with their new ranks.

“The Command is blessed with the promotion of 3 Comptrollers of Customs including the Customs Area Controller, 9 Assistant Comptrollers, 16 Chiefs Superintendent including the Command spokesperson, among others”.
