The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, reaffirmed the Nigeria Customs Service’s (NCS) commitment to advancing education during the launch of the book Business Geek: Innovative Incubator From Concept to Reality on Thursday, September 26, 2024. The event, held at the NAF Conference Centre in Abuja, saw CGC Adeniyi emphasizing the importance of quality education for national development.

In his address, CGC Adeniyi highlighted the NCS’s ongoing efforts to build and renovate primary and secondary schools across various states, ensuring that every child, regardless of background, has access to excellent educational opportunities. “Providing quality education remains a top priority for the Nigeria Customs Service,” he stated, pledging continued investment in the Service’s schools nationwide.

The book, authored by Asma’u Isah Maibasirah, wife of a high-ranking NCS officer, offers valuable insights into entrepreneurship and innovation. CGC Adeniyi praised the book as a timely intervention to address the country’s high unemployment rate, particularly among the youth. “There must be something in this book that we must pay serious attention to,” he remarked, encouraging widespread readership.

Aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s agenda of empowering small-scale businesses, CGC Adeniyi pledged the NCS’s support in ensuring the book reaches a wider audience. “We are committed to supporting the author in providing adequate printed copies whenever the need arises,” he added.

Professor Muhammad Aliyu Paiko, Vice-Chancellor of Abdulkadir Kure University, Minna, Niger State, reviewed the book, describing it as an insightful and robust research material for both intellectuals and students. He commended Dr. Maibasirah for her thorough research and compelling presentation of ideas.

Dr. Maibasirah expressed her gratitude to Mrs. Kikelomo Adewale Adeniyi, who represented the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her unwavering support. She also thanked the Comptroller-General and his team for their immense support, which positively impacted the publication process.

The event, attended by participants from various sectors, served as a platform for discussing strategies to enhance entrepreneurial skills and leverage innovative solutions for national development. Former Governor of Zamfara State, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, who served as the Chief Launcher, and other distinguished guests, were also present to celebrate the book’s launch.

Business Geek aims to foster a culture of creativity and business acumen among Nigerians, particularly the youth, by providing practical guidance on transforming innovative concepts into viable enterprises.
