MWUN Expresses Solidarity With Muslim Faithful During Ramadan

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), under the leadership of Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, has expressed solidarity with Muslim brothers and sisters in Nigeria and around the world during the ongoing Ramadan fast. This period of fasting will culminate in the lesser Hajj in the holy city of Mecca.

Ramadan, which begins today, is a significant observance for Muslims worldwide. It is a time for reflection, prayer, and seeking forgiveness from the Almighty Allah. The MWUN acknowledges the importance of this period and joins in the spiritual journey of Muslim faithful.

Comrade Adewale Adeyanju, a prominent labour leader and Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), emphasized the need for Muslims to demonstrate exemplary character, love, and tolerance during Ramadan. He urged Muslims to eschew bitterness and violence, and to be compassionate towards their neighbors, regardless of tribe, color, descent, or religious affiliation.

Dr. Adeyanju expressed his hope that this year’s Ramadan would bring immense success and genuine repentance of sins. He encouraged Muslims to remain courageous and cheerful, trusting in the compassion and mercy of Allah. He assured that their supplications would be rewarded by the Almighty.
