Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) Engages with CRFFN To Address Challenges

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), led by Comrade (Prince) Dr. Adewale Adeyanju, recently paid a courtesy visit to the Council For The Regulation Of Freight Forwarding In Nigeria (CRFFN). During this visit, critical issues affecting the CRFFN’s service delivery were discussed.
Media Head of the Union,Comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna in a statement on Thursday,stated that the MWUN delegation was informed about the establishment of a “Technical Committee On Identification Of Challenges Militating Against Its Speedy And Efficient Service Delivery On Mandate Of The Council.” This committee aims to address bottlenecks hindering the CRFFN’s core obligations to the agencies under its regulation.

Acting Registrar of CRFFN/CEO, Uromta Chinyere C. (Mrs), emphasized the importance of the CRFFN’s affiliation with the MWUN. This affiliation was granted by the newly created Ministry of Marine & Blue Economy, under the leadership of President of Nigeria, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCON.
In response, Dr. Adeyanju expressed gratitude for the Registrar’s dedication despite the challenges faced. He pledged to engage with government bodies, revenue agencies, and maritime stakeholders to address the issues. Notably, CRFFN workers have endured six months without salaries due to the removal of CRFFN’s name from the federal government’s annual budget allocations.
Adeyanju affirmed that the MWUN remains committed to ensuring efficient service delivery and effective administration within the CRFFN.
