Saidu Assures Of Prompt Payment Of Dues ,As MWUN Inaugurates A New DIstrict

The Chairman of the Lagos Industrial District, Comrade Bashir Saidu has assured that the districts under his control would be steadfast in meeting the district’s obligation to the parent body ,the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN),which include payment of dues as at when due.
According to a release made available to Premium News Daily (PND),by the Media Head of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria ( MWUN) ,comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna,Saidu , who was speaking over the weekend,after the election and subsequent inauguration of new executives of a new Unit, Ibasa Ijegun Unit at Satellite Town, Lagos,which is under the Seamen, NIWA & Water Transport Branch of the Maritime Workers Union (MWUN),poured encomiums on the President General of the Union,Prince (Dr.) Adewale Adeyanju,for giving him the opportunity to serve as the Lagos District Industrial Chairman.
Saidu noted that he met six units on assumption of office ,but today the units have risen to seven,attributing the success to the support of the President General of MWUN, Prince Adewale Adeyanju who also doubles as the Deputy President of the Nigeria. Labour Congress (NLC).
The statement reads,”During the inauguration of the unit after the election of the newly formed Unit, the following Comrades emerged, who will run the affairs of the unit for a tenure of four years are as follows: Shittu A. Ahmed – Chairman; Idowu Hassan – Vice Chairman; Wale Rabiu – Secretary; Raheem Adagun – Asst Secretary; Afolabi Lekan – Treasurer; Sulaimon Omojoyibo – Organising Secretary. Others are David Uwaifo – Asst. Organising Secretary; Muis Akindele, Bolarinwa Nurudeen; Ogungbemi Oyeyemi; Lateef Jamiu; Rasheed Igboro; Joy Iyamu all members of the unit executives.
“The Chairman of the Lagos Industrial District, Comrade Bashir Saidu was elated after the unit election and inauguration which he said was a huge success to his administration since he assumed the position of the District Chairman.
” He, however praised the Almighty God for the success and showered praises on the President -General of the Maritime Workers Union (MWUN) Comrade Prince (Dr) Adewale Adeyanju, who doubles as the Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) for giving him the opportunity to emerge as the District Chairman during his election”
The Lagos Industrial District Chairman promised he will not let the union down in all fronts, stressing that the units under him have become seven from six he met on ground; and he will work towards making sure that the units are upto date in the payment of their union monthly dues which is the bedrock of the Union’s membership as stipulated by the Constitution of the Union.
The Industrial District Chairman also reiterated his commitment towards the payment of his District dues as at when due, which of course, is the set target for all the arms of the union.
