In anticipation of the 2025 Women in Maritime and Energy (WIME) Awards, a delegation from the Board, led by the Chairperson Dr. Mrs .Chizoba Anyika including notable Advisory Board members Abiola Soremekun, and Tunbosun Afolayan, SCMP®, paid a courtesy visit to Mrs. Grace Orife, CEO of Adelaar Energy Limited.

The meeting, held as part of pre-award activities, focused on expressing gratitude and discussing collaborative strategies to promote women’s advocacy within the maritime and energy sectors. The board highlighted key goals, such as advancing balanced representation, expanding professional development opportunities, and fostering women’s leadership roles in these industries.

Mrs. Orife, a respected leader in the field and co-chair of the African Women Business Energy Network of African Energy Week, reaffirmed her dedication to initiatives aimed at equipping women with vital knowledge and skills. She emphasized the importance of creating platforms for greater visibility and engagement of women in maritime and energy.

During the discussion, both parties explored potential partnerships to further align with the overarching vision of the 2025 WIME Awards. The visit culminated in a unified pledge to drive positive change and inspire women across these critical sectors toward a more inclusive and dynamic industrial landscape.
