MWUN President-General Bunu Felicitates Christians At Easter, Urges Emulation Of Christ’s Teachings

The President-General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, has extended heartfelt Easter greetings to Christians in Nigeria and around the world, urging them to reflect on the values and teachings of Jesus Christ during the holy celebration.

In a goodwill message released by the union’s Head of Media, Comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna, Bunu described Easter as a period of solemn reflection and a celebration of Christ’s resurrection, which symbolizes redemption, love, and sacrifice.

“Easter is a significant testimony of the Messiah who came to earth for the redemption of mankind,” Bunu stated, while encouraging believers to embrace peace, love, and unity as exemplified by Jesus during his time on earth.

The MWUN leader called on Christians across the country to emulate the lifestyle of Jesus Christ, who preached repentance, forgiveness, charity, and peace. He emphasized the importance of living harmoniously regardless of tribal, religious, or political differences, stressing that all humans are created in the image of God.

A devout Christian himself, Comrade Bunu urged faithfuls to be true ambassadors of Christ by demonstrating unconditional (Agape) love towards all people. He noted that Easter provides an opportunity for believers to reassess their lives and align with the virtues and principles taught by Jesus.

While commending Christians for their peaceful nature, Bunu encouraged them to remain steadfast and resilient in doing good. “Such individuals,” he said, “will inherit the Kingdom of God.”

The Delta State-born maritime expert, business administrator, and seasoned sailor concluded by calling on all Nigerians to embrace peace, eschew strife, and promote love, noting that unity and mutual understanding are key to a harmonious society.
