The President-General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade (Prince) Dr. Adewale Adeyanju, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Nigerians and stakeholders in the maritime industry as the nation ushers in the New Year 2025.
In his New Year message, Comrade Adeyanju, who also serves as the Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Vice President Global of the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF), expressed gratitude to Almighty God for the relative peace experienced in Nigeria during the politically turbulent year of 2024. He urged Nigerians, particularly those in the maritime sector, to remain resilient and hopeful for a positive transformation in the industry, which would benefit the entire nation.
The prominent labor leader commended Nigerians for their patience amidst the severe hardships, insecurity, and other challenges currently facing the country. He assured that divine recompense awaits every Nigerian as the New Year begins.
Prince Adeyanju emphasized that only God understands the true intentions of everyone and expressed optimism that Nigeria would soon overcome its political struggles and reclaim its former glory, leading to a better life for all citizens.
Looking ahead to 2025, Dr. Adeyanju conveyed a message of hope, predicting a promising year for the maritime industry. He encouraged Nigerians to celebrate the New Year with joy, love, and happiness, while avoiding violence, crime, and other negative behaviors.
He highlighted the importance of the festive season as a time for love, giving, and sharing.
The message concluded with warm wishes for a happy New Year from Comrade Adeyanju, urging all Nigerians to embrace the spirit of the season.
