MWUN Celebrates Chief Adebayo Sarumi on His 80th Birthday

The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) extends warm felicitations to Chief Adebayo Babatunde Sarumi on the occasion of his eightieth birthday anniversary. Chief Sarumi, a seasoned maritime administrator, has left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s port industry.
Sarumi’s career trajectory and Contributions in the maritime sector began as a Traffic Officer in 1973.
He ascended through the ranks, serving as Traffic Manager at the Lagos Ports Complex and later as Warri Port Manager.
His tenure as Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) from 2003 witnessed significant reforms aimed at enhancing efficiency and transparency.
Sarumi’s commitment to blocking revenue leakages and improving service delivery transformed the port system.
Chief Sarumi’s reputation extends beyond professional circles.
He received traditional decorations in both the South West and South South regions, reflecting his dedication to Nigeria’s economic development.
Comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna,Media Head MWUN,stated in a press statement today that the MWUN wishes Chief Sarumi good health, prosperity, and longevity as he gracefully progresses in life.
