Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, the newly elected President-General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), has expressed his heartfelt appreciation to government officials, maritime industry stakeholders, captains of industries, entrepreneurs, labor leaders, veterans of MWUN, members of the press, traditional rulers, and distinguished Nigerians for their support during the Union’s recent book launch and Quadrennial Conference.
The event, held at the Festival Hotel in Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, marked a significant milestone for the Union under its new leadership.
Comrade Bunu, a Delta State-born business administrator, maritime expert, and seasoned sailor, also extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-El-Fitr, marking the end of the holy Ramadan fast. He urged Muslims to embody the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Unto Him) by practicing love, kindness, charity, and forgiveness, as emphasized in the Holy Quran.
In his message, the MWUN President-General called for peace and tolerance among Muslims worldwide, stressing the importance of unity and coexistence regardless of tribe, descent, color, or religion. He encouraged all to eschew violence and embrace harmony in their daily lives.
Comrade Bunu concluded his statement by wishing Muslims a joyous and peaceful Sallah celebration, underscoring his commitment to fostering goodwill and collaboration within the maritime sector and beyond.
