New Leadership Elected At 2024 ITF Women Delegate Conference

The 7th International Transport Workers Federation (ITF) Women Delegate Conference, held in December 2024, has successfully concluded with the election of new executives who will serve for the next four years.
The conference, which brought together representatives from various affiliate unions, commenced with opening and closing prayers, marking a significant event for the ITF Women’s Wing.
The newly elected executives are as follows:
Comrade (Sister) Funmi Fasan – Chairperson (MWUN)
Sister Omolabake Adelakun – Vice Chairperson (ROAD)
Sister Safiya Araya – Vice Chairperson (NUATE)
Sister Amos Chidiebele – Secretary (M/Navy)
Sister Rukayat Shuaibu – Assistant Secretary (ATSSAN)
Sister Ayegba Sarah – Treasurer (RAIL)
Sister Ogochukwu Ibegbunam – Financial Secretary (ANAP)
Additional elected officers include:
Comrade Sister Modupe Odunmuyiwa – Auditor (ROAD)
Sister Onyeka Anthonia – Welfare (RAIL)
Sister Okezie Dickson Ijeoma – 1st Trustee (M/Navy)
Sister Uguru Fidelia Uwaoma – 2nd Trustee (NUATE)
Sister Oloyede Olaide – 1st PRO (ATSSAN)
Sister Popoola Temitope – 2nd PRO (MWUN)
Comrade Sister Igbokwe Ngozi Tochi – Ex-Officio
According to a statement by media head of the union, Comrade John Kennedy Ikemefuna on Tuesday,these dedicated individuals have been entrusted with various roles and responsibilities to lead and represent the ITF Women’s Wing. Their election signifies a commitment to advancing the interests and welfare of women in the transport sector.
The conference highlighted the importance of unity and collaboration among the affiliate unions, ensuring that the voices of women workers are heard and their rights protected. The newly elected executives are expected to bring fresh perspectives and drive positive change within the ITF Women’s Wing.
