Ocean Network Express has expressed excitement as it Welcomes to its fleer the first 24,000 TEU Megamax Vessel

The Japanese company recently welcomed its first 24,000 TEU Megamax vessel, ONE INNOVATION, on June 2nd. This addition signifies the initial vessel out of six Megamax vessels that will join ONE’s fleet.

Reports have it that the Megamax is designated for deployment on Asia to Europe (FE3) service within “THE Alliance” (THEA), the vessel measures 399.5 meters in length, with a beam of 61.4 meters and a depth of 33.2 meters. It possesses a draft of 16.5 meters.
The ship was constructed at the Kure Shipyard of Japan Maritime United Corporation. With a capacity of 24,136 TEU, the ONE INNOVATION stands as ONE’s largest vessel, allowing for enhanced competitiveness and a reduced environmental footprint.

The vessel’s advanced hull design optimizes cargo intake while minimizing fuel consumption, showcasing a commitment to environmentally friendly practices.
Noteworthy features include an energy-saving device, a bow windshield, and an exhaust gas cleaning system compliant with the emission regulations set by the International Maritime Organization.

During the commemorative party, Yu Kurimoto, the Managing Director of ONE, expressed optimism that the new vessel would foster sustainable development in global logistics. Furthermore, he emphasized the vessel’s instrumental role in realizing ONE’s “Green Vision” initiative, unveiled last year, which aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.
